Peugeot UK’s Kris Meeke still leads Rally Islas Canarias but it was Juho Hänninen who proved the star performer through the 24.85-kilometre Fontanales stage.

Hänninen, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge title leader, was five tenths of a second faster than Meeke to climb from fifth to second overall after two stages in his Škoda Fabia, 3.7s behind Meeke.

Hänninen’s Škoda team-mate Jan Kopecký was third fastest with Peugeot Sport Portugal’s Bruno Magalhães claiming the fourth best time.
