Mikko Markkula says he and driver Juho Hänninen will go on full-attack to try and win Rally Internacional de Curitiba.

The Finns lost almost 90 seconds on the opening stage when their Škoda Fabia S2000 picked up a left-rear puncture two kilometres into the 18.85 Campo Magro test.

The delay has left them in fifth overall, 1m36.8s behind leaders Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle.

Markkula said: “We are not going to give up so we will try to go as fast as we can and see where we can get to at the finish.”

There are three stages left to run on Friday’s opening leg.
