Honda and Citroën test together

For the first time Castrol Honda and Citroën Racing factory teams shared a test session in preparation of the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

After running on their own on different racetracks, the two teams had their first confrontation this week at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet with changeable weather. It was sunny on Monday and rainy on Tuesday; on Wednesday the track was wet in the morning and dried up in the afternoon.

2009 WTCC champion and 2013 runner-up Gabriele Tarquini, and former F1 podium finisher Tiago Monteiro shared the Castrol Honda Racing’s Civic WTCC. This was the third test session for the TC1 version of the Japanese car, built in compliance with the championship’s new technical regulations.

On Citroën’s side, the three works drivers took turn at the wheel of the team’s two C-Elysée cars. Nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb, four-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller and Argentine ace José María López were all very busy and completed a great deal of lap
