Martin Kangur and Janos Puskadi have been tipped to shine when the IRC 2WD Cup resumes on Tour de Corse-E.Leclerc today (Thursday).

Alessandro Mariani, whose JAS Motorsport concern developed the Honda Civic Type R, has watched both drivers progress and expects Estonian Kangur and Hungarian Puskadi to run at the front in the two-wheel-drive category.

“A lot of attention will go to Janos Puskadi but many eyes will also be focused on Martin Kangur, only 18 years old and combining his studies with rallying,” said Mariani. “He recently finished eighth overall on a national rally and demonstrated his skills on the Geko Ypres Rally last year.”

Kangur, who will pilot a Catwees Honda Racing-run Civic alongside co-driver Silver Kutt, is among 31 drivers in contention for the IRC 2WD Cup on Corsica.

Other potential frontrunners include Harry Hunt, the defending IRC 2WD Cup champion, Italian driver Stefano Albertini and Eric Mauffrey from France.
