Harry Hunt is three stages away from winning the IRC 2WD Cup after successfully completing Saturday’s opening loop of three stages of the FxPro Cyprus Rally this morning.

The 22-year-old from Britain, who only started his rallying career in 2009, just needs a point to secure the two-wheel drive prize.

After completing stage 11, which was shown live on Eurosport, Hunt said: “We’ve had no major problems although the middle stage was long and tiring.”

Hunt is currently almost three minutes ahead of closest rival, the Hungarian Honda Civic driver László Vizin.
