Harry Hunt, who will contest 10 rounds of this year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge as he bids to reclaim the IRC 2WD Cup, will start SATA Rallye Açores from 23/25 February with recent experience of Super 2000 technology.
Hunt, a 23-year-old rising talent from London, drives a Citroën DS3 R3T in the IRC. Last July he sampled a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 during a short test in his native United Kingdom. He is now preparing to get behind the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000 when he contests the Wyedean Forest Rally, a national-level gravel event in the UK this Saturday (11 February).
“I can’t wait to start our schedule for 2012 and it’s great to begin with a rally on home turf,” said Hunt. “It’s going to be a really tough fight for the top spots. The Fiesta S2000 will be a big change from my Citroën but the extra seat time will help us prepare for the rest of the year.”
Hunt’s outing in the Fiesta S2000 is a one-off as he considers his options for the future. Robbie Durant, his regular co-driver, will navigate.
