Thierry Neuville’s navigator Nicolas Klinger has backed his young driver to recover from the disappointment of crashing out of Barum Czech Rally Zlín after less than four stages of competitive running.
Neuville, 22, was in seventh overall when he slid off on a right-hander after a crest and inflicted considerable damage to the left-rear corner of his car against a tree stump.
“He has the potential but he needs to learn sometimes to go slow,” said Klinger. "It’s difficult to sometimes find the right rhythm but if he keeps learning like he has been then there is no reason why he can’t get some very good results."
Neuville and Klinger will return to IRC action in their Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207 Super 2000 on Rallye Sanremo from September 23-25.
