Jan Kopecký wants to chase Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory again next season but admits he’s currently unsure whether or not he will get the opportunity to do.

The Czech star finished runner-up in the IRC drivers’ standings for a third season in a row this year in his ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000.

“Of course I would like to do another year but I’m not sure where I will be next year because I don’t have a contract at the moment, we will see,” said Kopecký, a winner of two IRC rounds in 2011.

Kopecký started the IRC season finale in Cyprus earlier this month at the top of the points table but needed to beat Andreas Mikkelsen on the mixed-surface event to win the prestigious accolade. He finished second.

“This year was very close but unfortunately we missed first place because of the [new] scoring system,” he said. “But for sure it’s the same for everyone.”
