Roman Kresta will put scoring maximum points in the Czech championship ahead of battling for outright victory on Barum Czech Rally Zlín, round seven of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season.

Kresta currently tops the Czech title race in his Adell Mogul Racing Team ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000. But after retiring from the previous round, the 35-year-old is desperate for a strong haul of points this weekend.

“For us it will be important to score maximum points [in the Czech championship] on this event, absolutely nothing more,” said Kresta. “We must score points and there are a lot of good guys who I guarantee are better than me. We are a private team and it cannot be possible to beat the factory cars. It will be very lucky if we win but we will see.”

Kresta, who hails from the small town of Trnava near Zlín, crashed out of last year’s event while challenging for a top 10 finish.
