Karl Kruuda says his outing on last week’s Prime Yalta Rally won’t be a one-off in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and has already submitted an entry for the next round in Ypres.
“We will be doing more events”, said Kruuda. “We will be coming to Ypres, of course Scotland, because that is a great event, Cyprus and maybe Madeira.”
The 18-year-old from Estonian has tackled selected IRC events in the past but his Yalta Rally appearance was his first in the IRC in a four-wheel drive machine. He finished eighth overall in a Skoda Fabia Super 2000 alongside co-driver Martin Jarveoja.
“The drivers in front are very fast and it’s hard to catch them but I’m trying to do my best and find the seconds in the kilometres that I’m losing”, he said. “I took Yalta as a learning rally because I’d never driven my Skoda on Tarmac before. Hopefully I will more find more pace in Ypres.”
