Jan Kopecký fears his lack of recent experience on gravel will rule out a shot at victory on the second round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Brazil next week.
The Škoda Motorsport driver hasn’t competed on a gravel event since he finished second to team-mate Juho Hänninen on Rally Russia last July.
He said: “My last gravel rally was a long time ago so it won’t be easy. For sure I would like to fight for the first position but I have to finish and not make any mistakes.”
Kopecký, from Czech Republic, prepared for Rally Internacional de Curitiba with a three-day test in Sardinia earlier this month.
“We had a good test in Sardinia and worked a lot on the suspension. We drove for three days so that was good because we had a lot of time in the car,” he said.
