LADA’s FIA World Touring Car Championship rivals better watch out.
The Russian squad has completed a major testing programme during the summer break and team chief Victor Shapovalov says the new-for-2015 Vesta has been significantly improved ahead of the season-closing races in Asia and the Middle East.
LADA Sport Rosneft was in action at Magny-Cours in France, home of its technical partner ORECA, earlier this month and Shapovalov was satisfied with the progress made.
“We had a large-scale testing programme and implemented a number of updates on the LADA Vesta TC1,” said Shapovalov. “Mostly we were focused on fettling the Vesta TC1’s geometry and increasing the effectiveness of the engine, as well as improving the suspension to make the car more potent in slow-speed corners.”
JVC KENWOOD WTCC Race of Japan takes place at Twin Ring Motegi from 11-13 September.
