Nicolas Lapierre is confident the results will come in the FIA World Touring Car Championship – but only once he’s got to grips with his LADA Vesta TC1.

Lapierre, winner of the LMP2 section of the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, has signed for the closing four WTCC races of 2015 with LADA Sport Rosneft.

Speaking in Tokyo on Thursday morning prior to his championship debut in JVC KENWOOD WTCC Race of Japan this weekend, the Frenchman said: “I’ve had two days in the car and I still need to learn. The weight distribution is very different, it’s front-wheel drive and I’ve not done a standing start was in 2007.”

He continued: “I want to bring something to the team, this is very important and that’s why they are asking me to come here to give a view of the car and help the team management. I will try to help them in this area and try to learn as much as possible from my team-mates, especially Rob Huff because of the experience he has in the WTCC. I can look into his data and try to improve myself. “
