Latvala wins Acropolis Rally

Finn claims his first victory of the World Rally Championship season

Jari-Matti Latvala has claimed his first win of the World Rally Championship season on the Acropolis Rally, which ended in Greece this afternoon.

The Finn, who took drives a Volkswagen Polo R, complete the rally 1min 50sec ahead of Dani Sordo in a Citroen DS3.

Ford Fiesta RS driver Thierry Neuville finished third, 24.1 seconds behind Sordo.

Championship leader Sebastien Ogier collected an extra three drivers’ points by winning the SS14 Power Stage, which brought the action on round six of the World Rally Championship to a close.

Evgeny Novikov scored two bonus points in his Ford Fiesta RS with Andreas Mikkelsen claiming the final point with the third best run in his Polo R.
