Freddy Loix will start first on the final day of Rallye Sanremo. The rally leader left overnight parc fermé in the Italian Riviera town shortly after 09:00hrs local time this morning for a 15-minute service before heading to the day’s opening stage, the 20.57-kilometre Colle Langan test, in his BFO-ŠKODA Rally Team Fabia Super 2000.

Andreas Mikkelsen will start second, one-minute behind Loix, in his ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia with Thierry Neuville up next in his Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207.

Karl Kruuda, who retired on the Ronde stage, will restart in 12th position but there will be no restart for his fellow Estonian Martin Kangur, who retired his Honda Civic Type R with technical problems after the night stage.

IRC 2WD Cup champion Harry Hunt will continue on day two after surviving a fraught night stage when a loss of brakes forced him to run wide into a bank, which caused a rear-right puncture. After changing the damaged tyre, he resumed only for his brake problems to return, which resulted in him sliding into a kerb and bending his car’s rear beam.
