Freddy Loix will contest three more rounds of this year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge. The winner of last month’s Geko Ypres Rally will enter the events in Madeira, Zlin (Czech Republic) and Sanremo (Italy) in a Skoda Fabia Super 2000 Facelift run by the Belgian Rene Georges Rally Sport operation.
He said: "Every year I’m thinking to stop but every year I’m back and this year I will be quite busy. I know Madeira is a bit more difficult for me than Ypres, which I know very well, because it is in the mountains but it will be good practice and more time in the car. I have also won once the Barum Rally and last year I was quite quick there until I broke a wheel. I know Sanremo too."
Loix, 39, has won four IRC rounds to date, including Barum Czech Rally Zlin in August 2008. He was runner-up in the drivers’ standings in 2008 and third the following season. His victory on the recent Ypres Rally marked his first appearance in the IRC this season.
