Julien Maurin says a top-five finish on Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse would represent a considerable achievement on his first appearance in this year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Maurin is currently on course to better the seventh place he scored on the island rally last year in sixth overall following the completion of stage five, which was shown live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player. However, the French M-Sport Ford Fiesta pilot has ambitions of climbing further up the order.

“The top five would be good for me because I was seventh last year and this is a fantastic rally with many fantastic and beautiful roads,” said Maurin. “The car is working well, maybe we make some small changes, but I am happy.”
