Meeke eager for wins in Sanremo and Scotland

“I want to finish this year on a high”

Kris Meeke has vowed to do all he can to win the Intercontinental Rally Challenge events in Sanremo and Scotland, even though his hopes of defending his IRC Drivers’ title are all but over.

The Peugeot UK pilot set the pace on both events last season, but was ultimately stripped of his RACMSA Rally of Scotland victory following post-event eligibility checks.

He now hopes to end an, at times, frustrating campaign by adding to his tally of IRC wins starting with a second straight victory on the all-asphalt Italian event, which runs from 23-25 September.

"It’s fair to say it hasn’t gone as smoothly this year as it did last year but it hasn’t taken away my desire to start every event trying to achieve the maximum," said Meeke. "I want to finish this year on a high and do the best we can and to win in both Sanremo and Scotland will be special."
