Kris Meeke has increased his lead on Rally Islas Canarias after going fastest on stage four, the repeat of the flat-out 8.61-kilometre Moya stage.

Meeke, driving a Peugeot 207, now holds a six-second lead over Jan Kopecký, who moved ahead of Škoda Motorsport team-mate Juho Hänninen into third.

Bruno Magalhães, whose 207’s faulty transmission was replaced at midday service, set the third fastest time but is still sixth overall behind fourth-placed Guy Wilks and Alberto Hevia, in fifth.

Wilks, who has fitted harder springs to his Fabia, reported very slight drizzle during the stage but said it hadn’t affected his outright speed.
