The delay to the running of Rally Islas Canarias has done little to slow Kris Meeke who continues to lead round four of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in his Peugeot UK 207 Super 2000 following stage seven. Meeke, from Northern Ireland, has widened the gap to Škoda Fabia driver Jan Kopecký to 17.9 seconds.

Kopecky could only manage the fourth fastest time through the 8.92-kilometre Era del Cardón stage, which has enabled Juho Hänninen to close to within 4.7 seconds of his factory Škoda team-mate. The Finn was second fastest through the stage, 0.7s slower than Meeke.

Škoda UK Motorsport’s Guy Wilks maintains fourth in his Fabia with Bruno Magalhães fifth in his Peugeot Sport Portugal 207. Alberto Hevia completes the top six in his Fabia.
