Kris Meeke has praised the efforts of his Kronos Racing team for enabling him to lead Rally Islas Canarias by 14.5 seconds.

Meeke has led the asphalt rally from the opening stage, setting the fastest time on four of the six tests.

He said: “We dropped the ride height of the car [for the middle loop of stages]. But it’s small adjustments like that that can make a big difference. The car is fantastic, a pleasure to drive and it’s allowing me to push to the maximum. It’s a real credit to the team for giving me the tools to do the job.”

There are three stages remaining before the finish of leg one in Las Palmas. The next stage is due to start at 18:03hrs local time.
