Factory Honda star Norbert Michelisz expects his team’s fight with Citroën to intensify during the remaining rounds of this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Ahead of WTCC Race of Germany at the Nürburgring Nordschleife next week, Citroën has four wins to its name with Honda one behind on three.

Michelisz said: “With similar weight to Citroën in Hungary we were very close to them in qualifying. Of course with wet races it was difficult to see the long-distance performance. But even with a lot of weight we are very close to Citroën and I expect to be fighting with them much often than we did in previous years. I think we will have at least one or two more possibilities to score a pole position and Main Race victory as well.”

After eight races, Citroën is 39 points to the good in the race for this season’s WTCC Manufacturers’ championship crown.
