Leading co-driver Frederic Miclotte reckons the shorter ‘sprint’ format of Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles will result in a thrilling battle for victory on round two of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Belgian Miclotte, 37, will co-drive countryman Freddy Loix in a Skoda Fabia Super 2000 on the Gran Canaria-based contest.

Although both lack knowledge of the island’s challenging asphalt stages, Miclotte says the rally’s compact schedule will make for an exciting event, which covers 190.59 competitive kilometres over a 24-hour period.

“The rally is like a sprint and because of this we will have to push from the start to the finish,” said Miclotte.
