Andreas Mikkelsen completed his preparations for the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo with a two-day test in the south of France last weekend in his Skoda
UK Motorsport Fabia S2000.

On Saturday (8 January) Mikkelsen drove on a short mountain road section on the outskirts of the ski resort of Allos in snow and icy conditions. The following day the 21-year-old switched to a venue in
Saint Auban where he ran on a longer, faster and drier road.

“This test was basically just to try different tyre combinations, especially on the snow on Saturday, to see what we gain and what we lose with different tyres on different surfaces”, said the Norwegian. “This will be my first Rallye Monte-Carlo and of course it will be very difficult, especially selecting tyres
for the changing conditions, so this has been a good test for me and I’m really happy with our preparations.”
