Andreas Mikkelsen has gone fastest in shakedown for Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, round two of the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
Driving a ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia Super 2000 alongside co-driver Ola Fløene, reigning IRC champion Mikkelsen completed five runs and recorded a time of 1m26.9s over the 2.55-kilometre test stage.
Jan Kopecký, runner-up in the IRC for the last three seasons and the winner in Gran Canaria in 2010, was second fastest, setting a best time of 1m27.4s in his ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia.
Sepp Wiegand was third quickest for ŠKODA Auto Deutschland with Alberto Hevia in his ŠKODA Spain-backed Fabia fourth quickest.
Hermann Gassner Jr made it a ŠKODA top five in his Red Bull Team entry with Luis Monzón the leading Peugeot 207 S2000 driver in sixth position.
Behind top IRC Production Cup driver Ricardo Moura, Angel Marrero impressed with the equal seventh fastest time as the leading IRC 2WD Cup in his Honda Civic Type R.
Marco Tempestini was the second quickest of the IRC Production Cup crews in 11th overall in his Subaru Impreza R4 STI.
