Two weeks after a brilliant result obtained in a meeting before his home fans on the Boavista circuit, Tiago Monteiro moves next weekend to a new theater of operations, Donington, which is hosting the 7th meeting of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

Despite the handicap of never having raced on the British track, Tiago is facing the challenge more motivated than ever and determined to keep up his momentum from the Porto races. Galvanized by conquering 4th place in the overall ranking behind the three powerful Chevrolets, Tiago will continue developing the 1.6 liter turbo engine, which is gradually approaching the engines of his competitors. "The most recent races showed us that we have made progress in terms of engine performance. We are more competitive and more confident that we can obtain good results," Tiago explained. "Unlike most of my competition, unfortunately, I do not know the Donington circuit but I am treating this meeting like a new, exciting challenge because I love to get to know new circuits."

The weather conditions are uncertain but may play an important role in the final result. "Rain will be rather good news because it would level the playing field and somewhat narrow the gap that separates us from our direct competitors. As always, I won’t take a chance by making predictions; I would like to secure the most points possible and take every opportunity that presents itself. Obviously, a spot on the podium would have a special taste to it and my Porto podium has whetted my appetite!" concluded the SEAT Sun-Red driver.
