Thierry Neuville is set to make the most of the experience he has gained in this season’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge but mounting a bid for the coveted title in 2011.
Neuville, 22, is undertaking a six-event programme in his Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207 Super 2000, run by the highly-respected Kronos Racing outfit. His best result so far was third place on June’s Geko Ypres Rally.
Prior to the start of Rallye Sanremo last week, a representative of Peugeot Belgium confirmed discussions were underway with the importer about increasing Neuville’s programme to upwards of eight events, which Neuville says would give him the confidence to push for the title.
"First we have to finish this season and speak to Peugeot Belgium but I hope they continue with me," said Neuville. "I would like to come back to the IRC next year. It’s a good experience and the level is very high. I hope I can be a little bit faster and be on top at the end of the season."
