Thierry Neuville will make his RACMSA Rally of Scotland debut later this week and has been told to expect the “best rally in the world” by Kris Meeke, last year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion.

Neuville and Meeke are team-mates at Kronos Racing and will both be in action on the Perth-based rally, which gets underway on Friday evening.

Twenty-two-year-old Neuville, who competes under the Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg banner in a 207 Super 2000, has never been to Scotland before and has asked Meeke for advice about the country’s IRC qualifier.

“Kris has told me it’s the best rally in the world and I’m sure he’ll be very fast there,” said Neuville. “For us it will be a good experience on gravel. It is only my fifth time on gravel and now I only finish two gravel events so it will be a good experience. We will start slowly and hope we will get faster and faster. When I am confident I can go quite fast.”
