Thierry Neuville has revealed he is under strict orders to maintain his career-best third place on the Geko Ypres Rally, round six of the 12-event Intercontinental Rally Challenge season.

Neuville, 21, is at the wheel of a Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg-backed 207 Super 2000 run by Kronos Racing.

He said: “Third would be a very good result and Marc [van Dalen, the joint Kronos boss] said it is important not to take any risks and finish where I am.”

After 10 stages Neuville is 1m18.5s adrift of leader Freddy Loix. He heads fourth-placed Bernd Casier by 1m08.6s.
