Several leading lights from the Intercontinental Rally Challenge will be in action this weekend, making the most of the short break in the IRC schedule.

Former IRC champion Juho Hänninen will be in Italy contesting Rally 1000 Miglia, round two of the FIA European Rally Championship, where his Super 2000 opposition includes IRC event winners Paolo Andreucci, Giandomenico Basso and last year’s IRC 2WD Cup runner-up Stefano Albertini.

Harry Hunt (pictured), IRC 2WD Cup champion in 2010, will also be in action on the Brescia-based event in preparation for Giru di Corsica - Tour de Corse, round four of the IRC from 9-12 May.

Elsewhere, Jan Kopecký will be bidding to make it three wins in a row in the Czech championship when he takes part on the Šumava Rally.
