The Ralliart challenge on Barum Czech Rally Zlín will be boosted by the addition of Fumio Nutahara to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge event entry list.

Nutahara, 46, has extensive experience competing on international rallies at the wheel of Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancers, including selected asphalt events in Europe.

He becomes the first Japanese driver to take part on the Zlín-based rally, which has attracted competitors from 26 different nations and runs from 27-29 August.

Nutahara will be co-driven by Hakaru Ichino in a Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.

After eight rounds of this year’s IRC, Ralliart holds fourth place in the manufacturers’ standings having accumulated a total of 19 points.

The leading Ralliart driver on the 130-car entry is local driver Václav Pech Jr, who will drive a Lancer Evolution IX.
