The 2010 GP2 Main Series Championship is coming to an end with the finale taking place this coming weekend at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the same venue that will host the Formula One season finale.
For Ocean Racing Technology, it will be the final race of a season that has seen the Portuguese team prove that they up there with the fastest on the grid, however there were also many incidents that prevented them from turning this competitiveness into convincing results.
However, the victory from Fabio Leimer in Spain shows the quality of work that Ocean Racing Technology and its drivers can deliver when everything runs smoothly and they are now confident that the Yas Marina round will be the perfect occasion to end their season on a high note on a track which requires great commitment.
"I can’t wait to race in Abu Dhabi as I feel comfortable on this track," said Max Chilton, "I was on pole the last time we raced here and we will do everything we can to end the season on a high. The layout is technical but if we do a good qualifying then we should be able to set our set high and have a nice race."
Last February, Max Chilton secured the pole position in Abu Dhabi after finishing eighth in the first rac. Qualifying will take place on Friday and both races will be broadcasted by Eurosport, Saturday (7:00am) and Sunday (3:00pm).
Before heading to the season finale, Ocean Racing Technology took note of the 2011 GP2 Asia Series 2011 calendar. The championship will consist of three rounds between February and March, the first one based on the same Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the final two in Sakhir, Bahrain.
