Daniel Oliveira has been told to chase experience on the final day of the FxPro Cyprus Rally.

The Brazilian retired on stage six of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge counter yesterday (Friday) after damaging his Peugeot 207’s suspension nudging a rock.

Manfred Stohl, who runs Oliveira, said it’s vital that his young driver completes Saturday’s six mixed-surface stages.

“It’s important he takes the experience from today,” said Stohl. “He needs to take the first three stages quite easy but in the afternoon he can show more speed to prepare for the Golden Stage Rally.”

Oliveira damaged his car’s front-left suspension arms and driveshaft when he hit trouble on the Lythrodontas test.
