Daniel Oliveira says he is under no pressure to deliver a strong result on Rally Internacional de Curitiba despite the fact he will be competing on home soil.

Oliveira is Brazil’s only regular competitor in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and will line up on the gravel event, which gets underway in five days from now, in a Stohl Racing-run Peugeot 207 Super 2000.

“I do not think there is any pressure on me in this race because, unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to race in Curitiba before,” said Oliveira, 24. “Yet the butterflies in your stomach are inevitable when you race in your home country. I will do the best to achieve a good result but there are lots of top drivers coming to Brazil.”

Oliveira will prepare for the IRC qualifier by contesting the Argentine championship Rally Mina Clavero this weekend alongside new co-driver Denis Giraudet.
