Vitor Pascoal’s co-driver Mário Castro says the Portuguese crew is hoping for improved fortune on leg two of Rali Vinho Madeira.

Pascoal and Castro lost eight minutes after their Peugeot 207’s jack failed when they were changing a punctured front-right tyre on Friday’s opening stage.

“Friday was a bad day so we hope for a better day on Saturday,” said Castro. “We will push to catch the others in the Portuguese championship because we have some bonus points to look for on the second day of the rally.”

Castro also revealed a minor electrical glitch had occurred on their 207 on Friday afternoon.
