Peugeot aces Bryan Bouffier and Guy Wilks both expect to make significant progress on day two of Sata Rallye Açores, round six of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Wilks and Bouffier are seventh and eighth respectively after Thursday’s first three stages, 29.3s and 36.3s behind leader Juho Hänninen in a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000. They hope to take advantage of a cleaner road surface created by the cars running ahead of them.

“Maybe I’ve lost a little bit too much but I’ve got a decent road position so I’ll see what I can do,” said Wilks, who drives a Peugeot UK-backed 207 S2000.

Peugeot France-supported Bouffier added: “For sure being eighth on the road is better than being first on the road and this could be better for me for the result.”
