Tyre manufacturers Michelin and Yokohama both received significant praise at the finish of the Cyprus Rally, the final round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge last week.

Event winner Nasser Al-Attiyah commented on the strength of his Michelin covers, while Toshi Arai, who won the IRC Production Cup in an astonishing third place overall, commented on the performance of his Yokohama tyres on both asphalt and gravel.

“We had good support from Michelin tyres for his event,” said Al-Attiyah, who triumphed in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RRC. “We have a good choice for this rally. We decide to go with the hard tyre and it made a really good race.”

Arai, who drove a Subaru Impreza R4 STI, said: “Thank you to Yokohama tyres. They have made a good tyre on Tarmac and gravel and we had good tyres here.”
