"I try to find my limit and try to find the best speed I can drive"

ŠKODA Auto Deutschland’s rising young talent on his impressive start to his debut season in the IRC.

Four IRC scores from four IRC starts is excellent progress, but how tough was your first appearance in Corsica?

“I was enjoying it more and more because I was getting faster and faster but it was not easy finding the right set-up. In the slow corners you had understeer, you accelerate and then you have oversteer so it’s not easy.”

Your preparations for Corsica didn’t go entirely to plan. What went wrong?

“I had a test but it was only 40 kilometres because the ferry strikes meant our car comes too late so we only had three hours test so it was not so nice. We need longer to find a better set-up.”

What’s your aim for this season?

“I try to find my limit and try to find the best speed I can drive. But it’s really difficult because very quickly you can have a puncture or a mistake so it’s really, really difficult to be in the right speed to learn and to push hard. The main point is I finish the rallies. After this point maybe I can push and find my own limits. It’s really difficult to mix going safe and going fast.”
