Rob Huff happy with Argentina results

A double podium for the Honda driver

Rob Huff says his WTCC Race of Argentina podium double made for a “brilliant weekend” in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

After qualifying sixth, Huff finished second in the Opening Race at Termas de Río Hondo before coming home third in the Main Race.

“It’s been a brilliant weekend for me, especially after qualifying P6, which is probably the worst place to start in the top 10 because you’re far from a podium in both races,” said the Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team driver. “But I made a strong start to the Opening Race, took advantage when Tiago [Monteiro] ran wide on the first lap and hunted down P2. In the Main Race, I was in the VIP seats to see the lead battle ahead. I just saw two cars making contact and Norbi [Michelisz] going off the circuit, so suddenly I was third and was able to finish there to take my first double-podium with Honda.”

Huff, WTCC champion in 2012, has moved back into the top five in the title standings heading to Honda’s home event, WTCC Race of Japan, next month. “I’m now up to P4 in the championship and it feels great to get things back on track like this,” the Briton added.
