Luca Rossetti wants to return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on a permanent basis next season.

The four-time IRC event winner, who is due to return to the series on Rallye Sanremo in late September, hopes he can secure the finances to tackle more events in the future.

“If we have time and budget we will go to the Cyprus Rally [in November],” said the Italian. “But I am also working for next year. I think the IRC is the perfect championship for privateers to fight with the Super 2000. The rules are very good because there are only seven races to score points and this is good. We will see…I hope to come back next year for a full programme.”

Rossetti was battling with Freddy Loix for the lead of Rali Vinho Madeira last week when he suffered a high-speed crash in his Procar Abarth Grande Punte Super 2000. He and co-driver Matteo Chiarcossi were uninjured.
