Stéphane Sarrazin’s bid to land a podium finish on Rallye Monte-Carlo has suffered a setback after his Peugeot 207 became stuck in fourth gear on stage 11 of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier.

The Peugeot France driver was 28.3s slower than surprise stage winner Giandomenico Basso and has dropped back to fifth behind Peugeot UK’s Guy Wilks as a result.

Bryan Bouffier continues to lead overall in another 207 with a margin of 47.7s over Freddy Loix, while Wilks is now within 5.9s of François Delecour. Basso, meanwhile, is 8.6s adrift of tenth-placed Toni Gardemeister and the final IRC drivers’ championship point point.
