Thierry Neuville has snatched the lead of Rallye Sanremo after winning the penultimate stage, the 18.80-kilometre Passo Teglia test in his Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207 Super 2000.
Neuville completed the run in a time of 13m33.1s, which was 2.2s faster than the identical time set by Bryan Bouffier and former leader Andreas Mikkelsen.
With one stage left to run, Neuville’s overall gap ahead of ŠKODA UK Motorsport’s Mikkelsen is a mere 0.3s. Bouffier, in a Peugeot France 207, is still firmly in contention for victory and will start the stage 9.3s adrift of top spot.
