ŠKODA UK Motorsport’s Andreas Mikkelsen will take a lead of 4.5s into the evening regroup in Sanremo after sharing the fastest time with Thierry Neuville through the second running of the 10.59-kilometre Bignone stage.
BFO-ŠKODA’s Freddy Loix remains in second overall on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier but his advantage over Neuville, in a Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207, has been trimmed to 0.9s.
Peugeot Sport Portugal’s Bruno Magalhães has retaken sixth place from Italian Umberto Scandola in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000.
Crews are now heading to Sanremo for a three-hour regroup prior to a 30-minute service. Friday’s action draws to a close with a 44-kilometre Ronde stage, which will get underway at 22:33hrs and will run under the cover of darkness.
