The repeat of the Sete Cidades stage has been cancelled due to delays caused by removing several stranded cars that had hit trouble on the first pass.

The 18.3-kilometre test was due to run as stage nine of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier and was originally delayed by 30 minutes before being cancelled altogether.

The remainder of Friday’s itinerary is set to run 20 minutes later than originally scheduled. Stage 10, the new Remédios/Água de Pau run, had been due to get underway at 16:02hrs local time.

Crews are now heading back to Ponta Delgada for a 30-minute service halt.
