Fans attending SATA Rallye Acores, the opening round of the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge, next month will once again be able to savour the thrilling spectacle of the Grupo Marques superspecial stage, which is currently under construction in readiness for the event from 23-25 February.
Measuring 2.20 kilometres in length, SSS Grupo Marques is scheduled to run from 16:00hrs on Thursday 23 February and again from 12:18hrs on Saturday 25 February. It traditionally forms one of the highlights of the rally.
Built in a quarry, the all-gravel course has been designed to allow two drivers to go head to head on separate tracks. A series of challenging turns and jumps add to the excitement, while excellent viewing opportunities ensure thousands of fans will get the opportunity to watch the action unfold.
