ŠKODA might have equalled Peugeot by winning the Intercontinental Rally Challenge manufacturers’ crown for a third time but that’s not an end to its ambitions for this year.

Although the destination of the IRC makes’ award has been settled, the coveted drivers’ crown is still up for grabs with Norwegian ace Andreas Mikkelsen in the driving seat on the season-finale in Cyprus next month.

“We have won a valuable hat-trick of IRC titles and made a historic achievement with the ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 by becoming the most successful brand of the IRC,” said ŠKODA Motorsport head Michal Hrabánek. “The end of this season is still ahead of us, though, and our
ambition is to win also the title in drivers’ category.”
