The number of Intercontinental Rally Challenge regulars taking part on Rally Islas Canarias next month continues to rise with the news that Guy Wilks and co-driver Phil Pugh will enter the asphalt event in their Škoda UK Motorsport Fabia S2000.

Wilks, currently second in the IRC standings following the opening three rallies of the season, joins Juho Hänninen, Jan Kopecký, Bruno Mãgalhaes, Kris Meeke and Thierry Neuville in committing to the Gran Canaria-based event, which will form the fourth round of the IRC.

He said: “I’ve never done the rally, but the challenge of contesting a new event is always exciting. We’re going there to score the maximum number of points we can and maintain our challenge in the IRC. I’m sure the competition will be very tough.”
