Henning Solberg says he has put the disappointment of his crash on Rally Sweden last month firmly behind him as he prepares to do battle for glory on Rally Guanajuato Mexico.

Speaking after completing reconnaissance for the second round of the 2011 World Rally Championship, Solberg said he felt confident for a good showing on the mainly gravel event.

“I like this rally and I’ve had some good results here in the past,” said the 38-year-old Norwegian. “The recce was good, no problems and the road position is good for the first day no question.”

Solberg is driving the same M-Sport Stobart Ford World Rally Team Fiesta RS WRC in Mexico that he rolled on Rally Sweden.

“There was some small damage on top of the roof because we went completely over I can tell you,” said Solberg. “But the car is all repaired now.”

Despite not arriving in Leon until Monday night, Solberg said he wasn’t suffering from any jetlag as he adjusts to the local time zone.

“Honestly I have no problem at all,” he said. “We came from Norway to London to Houston and then to here but I feel fine, much better than I normally do when I come to this rally.”

Solberg and Austrian co-driver Ilka Minor finished sixth in Mexico last season. They are set to tackle Friday’s stages eighth on the road.
