Sordo to open the road on day one in Corsica

Dani Sordo will start first on the road on day one of Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse, his first appearance in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Sordo, in a MINI John Cooper Works S2000, will be followed through Thursday’s three stages by Giandomenico Basso in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RRC run by the Italian A-Style Team.

Defending IRC champion Andreas Mikkelsen is running third in a ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia Super 2000 followed by leading French driver Bryan Bouffier in a Peugeot 207 Super 2000.

Jan Kopecký goes fifth in a factory Fabia with Sepp Wiegand sixth on the road for ŠKODA Auto Deutschland.

Mathieu Arzeno starts seventh in his Saintéloc Peugeot with local hero Pierre Campana eighth in his 207. Hermann Gassner Jr is ninth with Craig Breen 10th.

The top 10 drivers run in two-minute intervals. Rallying legend François Delecour starts 16th in his Renault Mégane RS. Toshi Arai is the leading Subaru Impreza driver in 26th position.
