Next month’s Rally Liepāja-Ventspils will be a step into the unknown for former Slovenian champion Aljoša Novak.

The ŠKODA Fabia R2 driver is a newcomer to the FIA European Rally Championship and has also never competed on snow and ice before.

“Our plan is to gain as much experience as possible and we also hope for the best result as possible,” said the 21-year-old, who won the Slovenian Junior title in 2011, one year after he began competing. “We begin in Latvia, my first rally on snow and ice and we plan to do six races of the ERC.”

Novak and co-driver Matej Čar also plan to contest the ERC rounds in Croatia, Poland, San Marino and Switzerland.
